Before speaking or acting, ask, “Is what I am about to say or do create and sustain life?”
When you take away all language, culture, or history we will come to understand that we are all, all designed to create and sustain life.
Those of us who do not – pass away, ultimately sad and alone.
In a manner of speaking, we are no different from trees or armadillos – all of us designed to create and sustain life.
In the Biblical book of Genesis we are commanded to “Be fruitful and multiply.” Or, in other words, ” to create and sustain life.
In the realm of marriages and relationships it may be useful to take the Loving Test.
To first ask ourselves:
- Is what I am about to say or do bring me closer or further from the one whom I love and who loves me?
- Will what I am about to say or do gain me more or less intimacy and love?
- Would I prefer to be loved or to be right?
If the answer is “No,” then STOP.
