"Is what I am about to do, or say … create and sustain Life?"

I propose a  simple (but not necessarily easy) way of thinking and acting in relationships.

It seems to me that it would be transformational to every human relationship if we were we to stop, pause and reflect upon what we are saying or are about to say.

Can we alter human history by taking a moment to reflect upon our potential choices, words, and actions by asking:

“Is what I am about to do, or say to my spouse or child, parent or friend, coworker or manager - create or sustain life?”

If the answer is “No,” stop and reconsider.

If unsure, ask another to listen to you work it out.

Further, it seems to me that were we to remove everything that has been said or made up about life and living, were we to strip away all culture, history, language and culture, were we to delete everything, every story ever made up about what it is to be human, we might come to understand that humankind together with every other organism on earth, is designed to "be fruitful and multiply," no more, no less.

We are designed to “Create and sustain life.” Everything else is made up, and I can imagine that so long as we choose to create and sustain Life, we will enjoy well-being, happiness and experience satisfaction.

And should we err, turn to the dark side, pursuing that which diminishes life - we will inevitably be unhappy, depressed, and fade away.

Imagine for a just a moment what would be available for ourselves our world were we to take the time to reflect upon all choices, words, and actions,  checking in with ourselves. Asking:

“Is what I am about to do, or say to my spouse or child, parent or friend, coworker or manager - create or sustain life?”

If the answer is “No,” stop and reconsider.

If unsure, ask another to listen to you work it out.

I foresee a historical, world-class, life and love-altering transformation when we routinely stop, pause and reflect upon what we are about to do or say.
